Financial Assistant

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Financial Services, independently responsible for the processing, payment, and reconciliation of all accounts payable, accounts receivable, FlexCard, and deposit transactions for DFSS departments (Facilities Management, Design & Construction Services, Environmental Health & Safety, Associate Vice Chancellor, and Business & Financial Planning).

Required Qualifications:

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accountants and vendors
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment
• Solid knowledge of University financial policies and procedures, including but not limited to travel, entertainment, misc. reimbursement, and purchasing
• Must have good attention to detail
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Proficient in MS Office programs (High proficiency)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree
• 1-3 years Experience in accounts payable, reconciliation and accounting processes

Job Functions and Percentages of Time:

• 60% Accounts Payable
• 20% Accounts Receivable
• 10% FlexCard
• 5% Deposits
• 5% Month-End Close and Audits
