Our client, a respected and fast-expanding provider of residential cleaning and maid services across Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, and nearby areas, is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to play a central role in the next phase of its growth.
This newly established position offers an excellent opportunity for a capable, hands-on leader to make a real impact, take ownership of day-to-day operations, and develop with the business as it continues to scale within the home services sector. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys being actively involved in the field, performs well in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, and brings strong operational experience from the residential cleaning industry.
Job Description
- Oversee, inspire, and manage a team of residential cleaning staff, promoting a strong culture of performance, responsibility, and teamwork
- Act as the main escalation point for more complex client concerns and internal staff matters, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and professionally
- Manage the end-to-end hiring and onboarding process, including candidate sourcing, interviewing, training, and successful integration into the business
- Provide regular operational and performance reporting to the business owners, with updates linked to key business metrics
- Create, implement, and uphold Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while carrying out routine field inspections to ensure consistently high service standards
- Plan and refine daily schedules and route allocation through field service platforms to improve efficiency and reduce lost time
- Track stock levels, labour spend, and operational performance to help maintain and improve overall profitability
Requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions independently in a busy, people-focused environment
- A minimum of 3–5 years’ operations management experience gained specifically within the residential home cleaning sector ; candidates with commercial cleaning experience only will not be considered
- Confident working knowledge of field service management systems such as ZenMaid or Jobber, along with Excel for operational reporting and cost control
- Native-level or professional fluency in both English and Spanish , with the ability to communicate clearly with field teams and present professionally to leadership
- Proven experience leading teams of 30 or more employees
- A practical, hands-on management approach, with a strong presence in the field rather than a purely office-based style
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting franchise growth or multi-site expansion
- Familiarity with KPI-led performance management frameworks
- Portuguese language skills would be beneficial
Benefits
- Full-time, on-site role working five days per week
- Salary of $60,000 – $70,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Based in Pittsburgh, PA, with responsibility across the surrounding service areas
