UI and UX Designer- with 10 years- Chicago, IL- only local in the highlighted skill set. Note: genuine consultants only with a LinkedIn profile according to the resume. Major Purpose: Required Education Four-year degree in Human Factors, Usability, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field. Required Skills & Experience 8 10 years of experience in UX/UI design. 5+ years designing e-commerce solutions (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile). Strong portfolio demonstrating complex digital workflows. 3+ years of Figma experience (primary design tool). Experience with user research, personas, journey maps, and usability testing. Ability to work with cross-functional teams (BAs, Product Owners, Developers). Skills Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Nice-to-Have (Preferred): B2B ECommerce Experience (cart, Checkout, Post-purchase Flows). 1+ year of Google Analytics (for data-driven design decisions). Job Responsibilities Experience working with design systems.- Create user interface specifications based on business requirements, user needs, and technical constraints.
- Develop concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma.
- Ensure designs align with Caterpillar s Design Guidelines (DEG) and CX roadmap.
- Conduct discovery research (voice of customer, analytics, usability testing).
- Develop personas, journey maps, and storyboards to guide design decisions.
- Work with business stakeholders, developers, and vendors to implement designs.
- Participate in design reviews, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions.
- Support design audits to ensure compliance with UX best practices.
- Promote user-centered design principles across teams.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging UX methodologies.
