Accounting Officer (Specialist)

Job Description and Duties

This position is eligible to telework up to one (1) day a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. This is subject to change based on operational need and/or future return to office orders.  The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under general supervision of an Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) in the Payment Section the Accounting Officer (Specialist) performs professional accounts payable and accounting activities of an average difficulty for assigned DGS program offices and client agencies. The Accounting Officer (Specialist) performs all tasks in accordance with Office of Fiscal Services guidelines, Governor’s Budget, Department of Finance rules and regulations, State Controller's Office policies, California Department of Human Resources policies, State Administrative Manual, and state and federal laws.
