Solutions Architect - SeniorAmentum is seeking a Top-Secret cleared Solutions Architect / Technical Lead to join our team in Washington, DC. In this role, you will lead a dynamic engineering team developing and operating critical national security enterprise applications. You will spearhead advanced software development initiatives, architect scalable solutions in the AWS cloud environment, integrate cutting-edge AI development work, and drive robust DevOps practices within a SAFe Agile framework.Key Responsibilities:Technical Leadership & Collaboration: Lead end-to-end software development, architectural design, planning, and implementation while maintaining the autonomy to act independently on complex technical challenges. Collaborate seamlessly both as an effective team leader and an independent contributor alongside senior stakeholders and customers.AI & Cloud Architecture: Design, integrate, and deploy innovative AI-driven capabilities and resilient cloud solutions leveraging extensive AWS Cloud Experience.Pipeline Management: Build, maintain, and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines utilizing Git and GitLab for streamlined version control and deployment workflows.Agile Execution: Champion SAFe Agile and SCRUM methodologies to foster rapid, high-quality delivery across multi-disciplinary engineering teams.System Integration & Compliance: Drive complex architecture work, integration processes, and engineering analysis while directly supporting the Authority to Operate (ATO) and security accreditation processes.Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday 8-hour days onsite. Flexibility within a 2-week pay period to reach 80 hours.Essential Responsibilities:Performs complex and advanced architecture work in design, evaluation, planning, testing and operation in support of system development, engineering analysis and research. Leads in the integration of processes and methodologies to ensure the performance of the total system. Works directly with senior technical personnel, program managers, and external organizations in the planning, oversight, execution, and evaluation of multiple complex technical solutions related to a program's system and technical product development. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of scientific principles and practices in broad areas across one or more technical disciplines. Maintains a liaison role for technical matters with staff and customers and acts independently on technical issues within his/her field of expertise. Will support the ATO and accreditation processes.Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others. Minimum of 8 years' experience recommended. In absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level.A typical day in the life on this program involves:Lead the efforts of: design, develop, test, maintain and deploy new software applicationsAnalyze and design new software solutions based on user and technical requirementsDevelop software in the AWS cloudAnalyze existing architecture and new requirements and prepare technical recommendationsCollaborate with cross functional teamsLead and mentor the technical DevSecOps teamMinimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):7 years of experience collectively with the following:Developing, testing, and deploying back end software in a widely used programming language such as Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, Typescript, and.NETDeveloping, testing, and deploying Java software using the latest versions of the Java Development KitUnderstanding system architecture and accessing vulnerabilities and plans to mitigate vulnerabilities.Experience implementing and using backend frameworks such as Java Spring, Nodejs, Go Gin, AngularJS, React, NextJS, Spring, Nodejs, NestJS, and Gin Spring, Google Web Toolkit, Hibernate, and StrutsExperience with software development lifecycle processes to include Agile developmentExperience with Software design patterns and antipatternsExperience with Systems designExperience with development tools (Git, Nexus, SonarQube, JIRA, Confluence, Crucible, Jenkins, Ansible, Ansible Tower, etc.)Experience in frontend, backend and API designExperience leading multiple teams in technical design and implementationExperience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing technical, functional, and performance issues in a cloud environmentExperience architecting and then implementing utilizing infrastructure as code (IaC) in a cloud environment utilizing terraform or another scripting languageSecurity Clearance Required:Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibilityMinimum Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical disciplineIn absence of degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirementsMinimum Years of Experience:Minimum of 8 years of experiencePreferred Qualifications:Strong understanding of Agile PrinciplesExperience with the Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Confluence)AWS Certifications Professional or SpecializationsStrong Oral and written communicationAbility to represent our customer in a positive fashion including presenting to Government officials in leadership rolesExperience designing, configuring and implementing AI technologiesScripting (Python, PowerShell, JSON, yml)AWS platform experience: GovCloud, C2S, & SC2SAWS experience: EC2, EFS, EBS, SQS, DLQ, Lambda, SNSSplunk monitoring, triggers, dashboardsExperience with JIRA for development of requests, setting up triggers and SLAs, tracking of customer requests, reporting issues, requests for information, sprint planning and reviews, and tracking backlog itemsExperience with Confluence for reporting, planning, documenting user processes, storing internal system configurations, publishing roadmaps for executive management and outside stakeholders.Experience working with ISSOs, ISSEs and an understanding of the ATO processExperience implementing and working with a cloud based desktop delivery system – like AWS WorkspacesAs part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, Amentum is a drug-free workplace and requires all personnel to comply with company drug and alcohol policies as a condition of employment.
