An established New York CPA firm is looking to appoint an experienced Tax Director to join its growing tax practice.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who wants significant client responsibility, involvement in developing the wider tax team and a genuine opportunity to progress towards Partner .
The Role
- Manage and develop a portfolio of high-value tax clients
- Review complex federal, state and multi-state tax returns
- Lead tax planning and advisory projects
- Act as a senior point of contact for key clients
- Review work prepared by Managers, Seniors and Associates
- Mentor and develop members of the tax team
- Support Partners with complex technical matters and client strategy
- Assist with business development and the continued growth of the tax practice
- Build long-term relationships with both existing and new clients
What They’re Looking For
- Strong background within public accounting / CPA firms
- Significant tax compliance, review and advisory experience
- Previous experience at Senior Manager or Director level
- Strong client management skills
- Experience managing and developing tax professionals
- Comfortable handling complex tax matters independently
- CPA strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
