Associate Rotational Accountant

The position is designed to be a two-year program, during which the Associate Rotational Accountant works for six-month periods with each of the four major accounting functions: Corporate Accounting, Operations Accounting, Development & Construction Accounting and Financial Reporting. Upon conclusion of the two-year program (or earlier if deemed appropriate), and based on performance and Department needs, the Associate Rotational Accountant will be eligible to fill an open position in the Accounting Department. In the event that a full-time position is not open following the program period, the individual will continue through the rotations until a need arises.

Essential functions include:

• Corporate Accounting / Financial Systems
• Operations Accounting
• Development & Construction Accounting
• Financial Reporting

Secondary responsibilities include:

• Participates in maintaining the internal controls and policies of CDP. Communicate any deficiencies in controls to Supervisor.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 0-1 years related accounting experience with increased responsibility and strong performance necessary.
• Will consider college graduate with CDP internship experience or other relevant internship experience and a strong recommendation.
• PC proficiency to include but not limited to Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and ability to learn company specific software.
• Ability to adapt to new or changing software programs.
• Familiarity with accounting systems required.
• Occasional travel to portfolio locations.
• Strong analytical, technical, and interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and comprehend multiple and complex business transactions and documents simultaneously with good and possibly independent judgment.
• Must have strong problem-solving skills.
• Must possess solutions-based approach to identified areas of opportunity.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must possess a working knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley.

Pay Range: $52,000 - $60,000
