Network Analyst

Network AnalystMIAX is currently looking for a Network Analyst to be responsible for managing the successful technical operation of the MIAX's production trading networking environments and the tools supporting the network. This person must be self-motivated, detailed oriented and a team player. The role requires interaction with Network Engineering, Trading Systems Help Desk, Systems Operations, Software Development, the Business Strategy Group and the Exchange's customer base. The major areas of responsibility are:Building out and managing monitoring tools to improve network monitoring and customization of vendor tools.Performing network data analysis and data reporting to support Trading Operations.Operating and monitoring the MIAX network infrastructure in support of MIAX's Exchanges. These are mission critical, high volume, real-time transaction processing environments.Participate in managing the change control process, implementation and fallback planning, business continuity planning and supporting periodic testing.Location: Princeton, NJOrganizational Structure: The Network Analyst will report to the VP – DCO, Network & Data Center OpsQualifications:Knowledge of network communications protocols such as the TCP/IP protocol suite, Multicast, SNMP, packet capture analysis, troubleshooting and latency analysis with Wireshark.Experience building and configuring network monitoring solutions.Experience with TAP aggregation solutions setup and configuration a plus.Command line interface experience of deploying network configurations a must.Extensive experience with network monitoring and analytical/troubleshooting tools.Strong Knowledge of the LINUX command line interface and LINUX network stack.Knowledge of common Financial Industry protocols, such as FIX, OPRA & CTS market data feed protocols a plus.Programming and scripting skills (Perl, Python, Shell, and etc.) a plus.Strong troubleshooting skills and excellent communication and organizational skills a must.NOC or customer support experience a plus.Education and Experience:Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science.2+ years of working in network operations or engineering in a financial organization a plus.Trading systems environment support a plus.Knowledge of equity and/or options products is a plus.
