Executive Director, Analytical Chemistry Lead

Madrigal Pharmaceuticals seeks an Executive Director of Analytical Chemistry to lead analytical development strategy and execution across pipeline assets. This role establishes method lifecycle expectations, data integrity standards, and external lab governance while aligning specifications and control strategies with development and commercial partners to support regulatory filings.
Responsibilities
- Define and prioritize analytical strategy across release, stability, and in-process testing programs
- Oversee method development and qualification plans to meet program timelines and support decision-making
- Establish data integrity standards and govern external laboratory execution and issue escalation
- Align specifications, reference standards, and analytical justifications with development and commercial strategies
- Ensure analytical documentation and regulatory rationales are ready for CMC authoring and submissions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in analytical chemistry or related field
- 18+ years of analytical development experience in regulated pharmaceutical environment
- Demonstrated leadership in analytical method strategy and data integrity oversight
- Experience managing external analytical partners and vendor governance
- Strong cross-functional communication and technical documentation skills
- Advanced degree preferred; solid-state characterization and polymorph experience valued
- Regulatory filing support and health authority response experience preferred
Compensation: $276,205–$328,644 per year
