Information Technology Manager

Optomi, in partnership with a leading healthcare organization, is seeking an IT Manager to fulfill a contract-to-hire opportunity with a client based in Long Island, NY. This individual will serve as the local technology leader and trusted partner between practice leadership, managed service providers (MSPs), technology vendors, and the broader enterprise IT organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional who has built a strong technical foundation and is ready to take greater ownership of IT operations, service delivery, vendor management, and technology strategy. The IT Manager will be responsible for maintaining a stable and secure technology environment while supporting a major enterprise integration initiative as the practices transition from locally managed technology environments onto standardized enterprise network, infrastructure, security, identity, and endpoint platforms. This is not a hands-off management position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable setting priorities, managing technology partners, and holding vendors accountable while remaining technically capable of rolling up their sleeves when needed. and consolidation of networking, endpoints, security platforms, Active Directory, Microsoft environments, and local infrastructure Remaining close enough to the technology to troubleshoot, assess issues, and provide hands-on support when necessary Working directly with practice leadership to understand operational priorities and translate them into technology solutions Helping establish stronger IT service management, monitoring, governance, and operational processes Contributing to an evolving IT operating model with the potential to support broader geographic responsibilities over time Apply Today If Your Background Includes: Experience as an IT Manager, IT Operations Manager, Infrastructure Manager, Regional IT Manager, or similar technology leadership role Experience supporting IT operations within healthcare, physician practices, ambulatory care, outpatient environments, or other clinical settings Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking, endpoints, Microsoft technologies, Active Directory, security, and local infrastructure Experience supporting multiple physical locations, clinics, offices, or other distributed environments Experience managing MSPs, technology vendors, service providers, and technical escalations Strong understanding of IT service management, incident management, service delivery, ticketing, SLAs, monitoring, and operational support Experience participating in network migrations, infrastructure integrations, M&A technology integrations, site migrations, or enterprise technology consolidation Understanding of healthcare technology environments, HIPAA, and the operational requirements of physician practices Experience with EHR/EMR, practice management systems, medical imaging, or other clinical technology is highly preferred Technical depth in at least one infrastructure discipline such as networking, systems, Microsoft technologies, identity, security, or endpoint management Ability to understand business and clinical priorities and translate them into actionable technology priorities Ability and willingness to provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting when needed Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to work effectively with practice leaders, enterprise technology teams, MSPs, and vendors Ability to operate effectively within a large corporate technology organization while maintaining a strong focus on local practice needs RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead day-to-day IT operations and technology service delivery across multiple physician practice locations in the Long Island area Serve as the primary liaison between local practice leadership, enterprise IT teams, MSPs, and third-party technology vendors Establish technology priorities based on operational needs, cybersecurity requirements, infrastructure health, and enterprise standards Manage MSP performance, escalations, service levels, ticket trends, and overall quality of technology support Ensure critical clinical and business technology remains stable, monitored, secure, and available Support a full network and technology integration of the physician practices into a centralized enterprise environment Coordinate and support migrations involving networking, firewalls, endpoints, security platforms, Active Directory, Microsoft environments, and local infrastructure Partner with enterprise networking, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and shared-services teams throughout integration and modernization initiatives Provide local testing, validation, troubleshooting, and implementation support during technology deployments and migrations Help ensure enterprise technology changes are successfully implemented without disrupting clinical or business operations Support the migration of local infrastructure into approved data center or cloud environments where appropriate Coordinate support for medical imaging equipment and other specialized clinical technology that must remain within the local practice environment Identify infrastructure vulnerabilities, capacity issues, monitoring gaps, and operational risks before they result in business or clinical disruption Contribute to technology planning and budgeting with practice leadership while aligning future investments with enterprise standards Drive adoption of ITSM processes, governance, controls, incident management, and enterprise technology standards Provide hands-on technical leadership and individual contribution within areas of technical expertise
