About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Finance and Administration to serve as a strategic partner in the institution's mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership, direction, and oversight of various functions, including finance, budget, human resources, and facilities operations. This role demands a bold, collaborative, and student-centered leader with a strong business acumen, who can work aggressively to secure and strengthen the company's fiscal health. The VPFA will be expected to communicate clearly, foster a culture of trust and transparency, and drive process and policy improvements to enhance efficiencies. A key challenge is to develop and implement a zero-based budgeting process and optimize the impact of physical resources to support the company's strategic framework. Essential skills and characteristics for this role include a substantial track record in financial, administrative, and organizational achievements, experience in financial and strategic planning, and the courage to make and communicate informed decisions. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a master's degree preferred, and a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role. Previous experience in higher education, particularly in private institutions, is required. The VPFA should be a nimble and creative thinker, a deeply collaborative leader, and a champion of the liberal arts mission. They must be data-driven, analytical, and possess exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. The role also requires the ability to make difficult decisions, hold oneself and others accountable, and maintain the highest level of integrity.
