Press Brake Operator

Responsible for machine set‑up, inputting data to form designed parts, fitting and provide accurate measurements. Current Machines Amada Press Brake with NC9-EX controls Amada Press Brake, FAB III-8025 NT with NC PC controls Job Duties Operate press break machine. Run bend and forming operations using standard and custom punches. Use a CNC controller to input information into machine. Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints. Checks height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision‑measuring instruments. Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake. Work with tight tolerances. Produce parts for assembly operations. Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements. Program the CNC to produce new parts meeting specifications. Perform spot inspections of parts. Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures. Complete and maintain paperwork. Identify assembly parts. Set up light gauge metal. Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum & regular steel). Check machine for defects and repair if necessary. Ensure machine is calibrated and cleaned. Read drawings and blueprints. Qualifications High School diploma preferred. Five to ten years of experience in the industry preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Math Skills: Good math skills will help press brake operators understand complex instructions, how schematics work and make sure items are designed and built correctly. Problem Solving Skills: Press brake operators will need to know why machines are not at peak performance, how to increase output and how to fix errors. Attention to Detail: Press brakes are precision equipment. Being off by millimeters could be a critical error. Keen attention to detail is required. Mechanical and Technical Skills: Machines controlled by computers will need operators who understand CAD/CAM technology. Physical Requirements Ability to walk, bend, reach, and twist frequently throughout the day. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds (or specify your range). Ability to lift and position materials overhead or at shoulder level as needed. Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and arms. Ability to grip, grasp, and handle small components as part of production tasks. Ability to climb stairs or ladders and work at heights as needed. Ability to handle vibrating tools or machinery. Ability to crouch, kneel, stoop, or work in confined spaces periodically. Ability to tolerate exposure to dust, noise, vibration, fumes, and changing weather conditions. Ability to maintain alertness and concentration for extended periods while operating machinery. Work in an environment with moderate to high noise, moving equipment, and fluctuating temperatures. Ability to see, hear, and speak effectively to communicate and respond to equipment alerts and alarms. Visually inspect parts and equipment and respond to safety alarms or signals.
