Description:
The CNC Mill Setup/Operator is responsible for setting up and utilizing 3-4 Axis Vertical (Horizontal is a plus) CNC/Manual controlled machines in a safe and efficiency manner to produce quality goods. This position reports directly to the Manager and is responsible for the machining and manufacturing of parts meeting quality, cost, and delivery requirements set by the leadership team.
- Operate and set up CNC machining equipment utilizing a wide range of controls
- Strong ability to perform job set-up using traditional clamping methods, vices and custom work holding fixtures
- Set up and operate precision testing, measuring, and inspection instruments
- Complete documentation as required
- Accurately utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, pin gauges, and gauge blocks
- Ability to run multiple pieces of equipment during cycle time
- Daily communication with supervisors, planners, leads, and other employees
- Maintain a high standard of quality and work within organization’s environmental, health, and safety standards
- Work within the SOP for machine shops supplies and make sure proper tooling is maintained and secured
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
- 2-4+ years of CNC mill experience
- Experience with vertical and horizontal milling machines
- Ability for accurately interpreting GD&T drawings to program, plan, inspect, and manufacture
- Positive and effective communication with leadership and colleagues
