Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic mobile Diesel Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of light to heavy duty equipment, including diesel, gas engines and trailers on commercial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably to DOT standards, supporting our operations and customer satisfaction.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence in vehicle and equipment maintenance. We are primarily a mobile service to our customers. This is a 1099 position. We supply major and specialty tools along with the van and uniforms. Our customers rely on our honesty, integrity and attention to detail to take care of their fleets.

Duties:

• Travel to and from each customer with a van provided by the company with a rotating on call week.
• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on gas/diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and HVAC systems using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on light to heavy equipment such as pick up trucks, vans, tractors and trailers.
• Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Replace or repair shocks & struts, air brakes, and other critical components to maintain safety standards.
• Utilize electrical experience to troubleshoot wiring issues and perform electrical repairs on heavy machinery, light duty vehicles and trailers.
• Maintain detailed service records including inspection reports, repair logs, and maintenance schedules for all equipment serviced.
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform welding or assembly work during major repairs or overhauls to ensure proper functioning of machinery.
• Rotational emergency service on call week.

Experience:

• Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics.
• Strong familiarity with schematics reading for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams.
• Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as tractors-trailers, or light to medium duty vehicles is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including air brake repair, transmission servicing, suspension adjustments, HVAC systems, shocks & struts replacement.
• Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; comfortable working with power tools and hand tools for assembly or repairs.
• Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high standards of quality in all repair tasks.
