Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accounting Assistant in Owings Mills, MD. Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support daily accounting operations, financial recordkeeping, and administrative accounting activities. This role is responsible for assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, data entry, and financial reporting while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting Assistant will assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
- Enter and maintain accounting records and financial transactions
- Prepare and process invoices, payments, and account adjustments
- Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Maintain general ledger documentation and supporting schedules
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and transaction issues
- As an Accounting Assistant, you will prepare reports, spreadsheets, and accounting documentation as needed
- Assist with employee expense report processing and recordkeeping
- Support audit activities by gathering supporting documentation and schedules
- Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding account inquiries
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with company policies
- High School diploma/GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
- 1+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related experience
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems
- Experience supporting reconciliations and month-end close activities
- Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable experience
- Experience working in a corporate, nonprofit, or professional services environment
