Registered Nurse (RN) - Cath Lab

Shift Information

Shifts are available as either four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts, allowing for flexibility at the time of the offer. Weekend commitments are required every four weeks.

On-Call Information

On-call duties may be required 1-2 nights per week, as needed.

Job Description

The Cardiac Catheterization Lab provides care to both acute inpatient and elective outpatient populations. Staff members are available around the clock for any emergency procedures during off hours, weekends, and holidays. Care is delivered through a multidisciplinary team of specialized clinicians, including nurses, radiology technologists, and cardiovascular technologists.

Key Responsibilities

• Position and immobilize patients on the examination table according to established protocols.
• Continuously assess patient hemodynamics.
• Administer conscious sedation.
• Prepare and maintain IV/IC infusion and bolus.
• Alert the physician to any changes in patient responses.
• Assist the physician during interventional procedures.
• Manage patient recovery to Phase I.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of current experience in a Cath Lab.
• Experience in cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures is required.
• Moderate Sedation Certification is highly preferred.
• Experience with Cath and peripheral interventions, as well as STEMI and STEMI call experience, is necessary.
• Proficient in interpreting EKG and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
• Experience in administering conscious sedation.
• IV experience is required.
• Experience in electrophysiology is highly preferred.
• Candidates must have reliable transportation.

Additional Information

Requested time off during the assignment must be communicated and verified prior to submission, with a maximum of five days of requested time off acceptable. Orientation is non-billable, lasting eight hours.

Dress Code

Personal scrubs of any color are permitted, provided they do not feature designs or cartoons. Hoodies are not allowed.

Compliance Requirements

Candidates must hold a New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate, which is a prerequisite for staffing. In addition, candidates must complete training through approved organizations for onboarding and clearance.
