Controller Location: San Antonio, TX Job Id: 415 Full Time - Exempt. Reports to COO. Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday. Corporate Office. Job Purpose The Controller is responsible for creating structure, accuracy, discipline, and operational visibility across Natura’s accounting and financial processes. This role oversees day‑to‑day accounting operations while partnering closely with Executive Leadership, Directors, Branch Managers, and the accounting team to improve reporting accuracy, strengthen financial processes and increase insight into branch‑level financial performance. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Accounting Operations & Financial Accuracy Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and financial reporting across the organization. Improve accuracy, consistency, and discipline within: Accounts Receivable (AR) Accounts Payable (AP) Customer onboarding financial setup Contract and billing accuracy Branch‑level accounting processes Identify and correct data inconsistencies, reporting inaccuracies, and process breakdowns. Ensure timely and accurate month‑end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and statement preparation. Create accountability and structure around branch‑level financial reporting and documentation. Support the accounting team in building stronger habits, clearer processes, and consistent follow‑through. 2. Accounts Receivable & Cash Flow Visibility Improve visibility and discipline surrounding cash flow and receivables management. Oversee and improve AR processes, collections visibility, aging buckets, account management, and customer payment trends. Monitor and report cash conversion rates, days to pay, days to discount, AR under 15 days, and outstanding balances. Identify operational or contractual issues contributing to AR challenges. Partner with internal teams to improve communication, documentation, and accountability around receivables. Collaborate with the Director of Service Operations and Branch Managers to enhance financial understanding and accountability. 3. Financial Analysis & Reporting Review branch P&Ls regularly to identify labor trends, replacement margin trends, operational inefficiencies, and financial anomalies. Understand how branch operations impact revenue, labor costs, AR/AP performance, and profitability. Provide operational insight into branch performance, financial trends, and areas requiring correction. Support leadership in understanding the “why” behind financial performance. Build and improve reporting visibility across the organization. 4. Reporting & KPI Development Develop consistent daily financial visibility, weekly reporting structures, monthly financial reporting, and KPI dashboards. Improve leadership visibility into branch financial performance, margin trends, cash flow performance, and operational financial health. Ensure reporting is timely, accurate, actionable, and trusted by leaders. Identify opportunities to make reporting easier to access and more useful for decision‑making. 5. Process Improvement & Organizational Discipline Identify areas for improvement, communicate clear recommendations, and evaluate existing accounting and financial processes. Develop recommendations for process improvements, reporting structure improvements, and financial accountability. Partner with executive teams and department leaders to align priorities, develop implementation plans, and enhance organizational discipline. Document process changes and create consistency across the accounting function. Support key financial administrative responsibilities and external financial relationships (tax preparation, CPA relationships, banking, insurance, 401(k), asset management). Ensure compliance and organization across all financial documentation and reporting. 6. Technology & Automation Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI tools, and technology improvements. Continuously evaluate efficiency improvements, reporting automation, and process scalability. Help the accounting team adopt tools that improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility. 7. Leadership & Team Development Lead, train, and develop accounting team members to ensure high performance and continuous growth. Participate in financial and KPI meetings as needed. Collaborate with Directors and Branch Managers to improve accountability and strengthen operational understanding. Build trust and credibility across all levels of the organization. Experience in accounting leadership or informal team leadership. Strong understanding of AR/AP processes and financial reporting. Experience with month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Ability to analyze branch or department P&Ls. Strong operational and business acumen. Ability to identify trends and operational impacts within financials. Experience improving accounting processes, documentation, or structure. Strong communication and leadership skills. High attention to detail and accountability. Ability to work cross‑functionally with accounting and non‑accounting leaders. Comfortable in a hands‑on role within a growing organization. Preferred Experience Service‑based or multi‑location operational business experience. Experience working closely with operational leaders. ERP/accounting system experience. Experience with financial dashboards and KPI reporting. Interest in AI, automation, and process innovation. CPA or CPA track preferred, but not required.
