SENIOR PUBLIC HEALTH NUTRITIONIST Agency: Department of Health Responsibilities Certify clients for participation in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) according to the WIC Manual DHM 150-24. Provide nutrition counseling, education, and follow‑up services to WIC Program clients, including promoting breastfeeding. Develop nutrition care plans and document information in the WIC data system (FL WiSE) following the WIC User Manual. Create high‑risk nutrition care plans for medical high‑risk clients and ensure scheduling of follow‑up counseling sessions. Perform anthropometric duties such as hemoglobin testing as needed. Conduct group nutrition education classes for WIC participants as required. Design educational materials for use in the WIC Program. Assist in training new WIC nutrition staff in certification and counseling processes. Support development and evaluation of the nutrition program plan and related documents. Attend meetings and seminars related to the WIC Program and complete required reports (e.g., EARs, nutrition education activity reports). Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications Florida State Licensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist (Florida Statutes Chapter 468 Section 509). Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field. Valid Florida driver’s license. Ability to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish (preferred). Flexible schedule availability, including evenings and weekends (preferred). Minimum of one year of WIC experience (preferred).
