$19.70/hourly Conducts quality group exercise classes in the areas of cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and muscular endurance with warm-up and cool-down for each class, with emphasis placed on patron service and the retention and promotion of quality programs in the LSPR system.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Plans and leads quality exercise classes.
• Maintains safety in all classes by following LSPR guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Evaluates fitness classes through observation and direct contact with participants as well as through the use of written surveys.
• Set up equipment and stores securely after completion of classes.
• Maintains cleanliness of the fitness area.
• Keeps attendance records of patrons in class.
• Check the instructor bulletin board for updates.
• Assures proper equipment is available for each program; inspects equipment for damage or disrepair, removes from service as needed, and advises appropriate LSPR staff.
• Evaluate and make recommendations for the purchase of new or replacement fitness equipment.
• Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
• Ensures enforcement of rules and regulations of LSPR.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; and,
• Relevant nationally recognized certification, NCCA accredited group exercise certification, or personal training certification; and,
• Basic first aid, CPR and AED certification is required within three (3) months of the date of hire.
