Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, allowing you the flexibility to balance your work and personal life. However, you will be an integral part of our outpatient office located in Brookhaven, New York, engaging regularly with a collaborative treatment team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health specialists. Your work schedule will predominantly be Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 4 PM, with some flexibility to meet the needs of your patients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments that gather detailed information about clients’ mental health histories and current challenges.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

• Maintain meticulous documentation by keeping detailed treatment records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Engage actively in case consultations and peer review meetings to promote best practices and enhance the quality of client care.

Your role as a mental health counselor will involve working with a diverse range of clients facing various challenges. You’ll engage with individuals from different backgrounds who are dealing with mental health issues including depression, anxiety, and trauma. Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology; preference for those with advanced degrees.

• An active, valid license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New York.

• Demonstrated proficiency in solution-focused psychotherapy interventions, enabling you to adapt your therapeutic approach to individual client needs.
