Pay: $35–$50+/hour, depending on location and experience

Position Overview

We are seeking qualified General Sonographers to join a mobile ultrasound team serving nursing homes, home care facilities, correctional facilities, and other healthcare locations. This role involves traveling to assigned facilities, performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations using portable equipment, and transmitting images electronically for radiologist interpretation.

- Huntsville/Birmingham, AL: $35–$40/hour
- Panama City, FL: $40+/hour
- Kansas City, KS: $35–$40/hour
- Omaha, NE: $40–$50/hour

Pay is based on location and experience. Shift differentials may apply depending on location and shift, and relocation assistance may be discussed during the interview.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations using portable sonographic equipment at assigned healthcare facilities.
- Obtain clinically diagnostic images and transmit studies electronically to radiologists for interpretation.
- Verify physician orders and confirm patient identity using two approved identifiers before performing examinations.
- Review assigned cases through the dispatch system and communicate with dispatch regarding workload and scheduling.
- Respond to urgent communications within the required timeframe.
- Complete examination paperwork, billing documentation, and related records accurately and promptly.
- Communicate professionally with patients, facility staff, dispatch, supervisors, and healthcare providers.
- Maintain portable ultrasound equipment and the assigned company vehicle.
- Follow patient safety, infection control, professional conduct, and medical ethics requirements.
- Work independently with minimal direct supervision while maintaining reliable communication with the team.
- Complete required health screenings, annual TB testing, infection control training, and other employment requirements.
- Successfully complete required background checks and drug screening.

Required Qualifications

- Registration with ARDMS or CCI for vascular ultrasound .
- Required general and vascular ultrasound experience/modalities , with at least RVT or RVS required for the Omaha position.
- Graduation from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound technology program.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.
- Ability to travel between healthcare facilities throughout the assigned service area.
- Basic smartphone and computer skills, including scanning, printing, and sending documents electronically.
- Strong communication, organization, and independent working skills.
- Compliance with applicable COVID-19 vaccination requirements or approved exemption documentation.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of handling portable equipment, including lifting an equipment bag requiring approximately 18–20 pounds of force.

Additional qualifications: ECHO experience is a plus for Huntsville/Birmingham. Limited licenses are not accepted.
