Budget Analyst

Provides technical, analytical, and administrative support and coordination for the City's annual operating and capital budget development, projections and administration, including but not limited to, supporting City departments, preparing formal presentation documents, training in accounting/budgeting processes and procedures, and conducting special projects. Work is performed under general supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment based on professional education and previous experience.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field; supplemented by two or more years' progressively responsible experience in professional accounting and budgeting, preferably in a governmental or similar institutional environment; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience. Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment. In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
