Apply today and be part of our growth!Job DescriptionThe Accounting Manager is a detail-oriented and proactive leader responsible for overseeing key internal reporting activities and financial reporting processes across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory Control, and Sales. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, strengthens internal controls, supports SOX compliance, and develops scalable accounting processes to support a growing organization. The Accounting Manager partners closely with leadership to help establish the vision, strategy, and standards governing the company's assets and financial operations.ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly income statements and expense reporting, and present results to department leaders with insights on accuracy, trends, and opportunities for improvementReview and analyze monthly financial results, including preparing variance analysis as needed to support business decision-makingEnsure timely payment of periodic expenditures by applying sound judgment and GAAP guidance to determine whether costs should be accrued, deferred, or expensedSupport end-to-end invoice and payment processing requirements, including purchase order and non-purchase order accounts payable processesManage the purchase card program, including oversight of cardholder spend, monitoring compliance with established guidelines, and ensuring cardholders uphold proper controls and policy requirementsOversee the end-to-end cost accounting process to ensure accurate inventory costing within the Company's inventory management system, including monthly and quarterly close activities, inventory- and manufacturing-related journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliationsPromote a culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation while partnering regularly with business owners and senior leaders on accounting mattersCollaborate with external vendors to resolve accounting issues and discrepanciesProvide accounting support across the organization and respond to financial questions and concerns to meet business needsComplete ad hoc assignments, business projections, forecasts, and special projects with limited directionSkills and KnowledgeBring strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate financial information, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions, Communicate clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to explain accounting concepts to a range of audiences, Demonstrate a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through in a deadline-driven environment, Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and controls, and independently drive improvements from concept through implementation, Learn quickly, take initiative, and operate as a self-starter with the ability to contribute immediately in a fast-paced environment, Thrive in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment by managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and keeping projects moving forward, Work cooperatively and collaboratively with employees, cross-functional partners, and executive leadership at all levels of the organizationQualifications5–7+ years of public and/or private accounting experience with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and monthly close processes required3+ years of general accounting experience requiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field requiredMBA, CPA, or CMA designation preferredExperience with ERP systems required; NetSuite experience preferredRetail or wholesale industry experience preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipmentAble to clearly view and read information on a computer screenOccasionally lift or move items up to 15 poundsLocationOn-site in Lenexa, KSPay Range$95,000.00 - $115,000.00
