Position Description

The Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and proper operation of the equipment. We require that they be committed to the total Ajax team effort by contributing to the proper completion of the work as directed by the Foreman.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Note: The following duties are descriptive and not exhaustive. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. Major duties include the following:

• Must operate equipment to actively maximize production and quality
• Must keep shop informed of operating deficiencies
• Must perform daily maintenance, lubrication and keep equipment clean on a daily basis
• Must be on the job troubleshooter and communicate with the shop to find solutions to problems
• Assist mechanic on job repairs
• Perform all mechanical repairs possible using standard tools and supplies kept on the job
• Assist on the job as directed by foreman
• Keep foreman informed of on-the-job progress and any problems

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is exposed to outdoor conditions, noise and heat
• Ability to work days, nights and weekends as required

• Ability to work well with subordinates, peers and supervisors
• Ambitious

ATTENDANCE AND RELIABILITY

• Reporting to work on time, after lunch, and not leaving early unless authorized
• Always providing proper notification and advance notice of absence
• Not abusing or taking advantage of personal days off
• Performing such other duties as may be required

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The essential functions of this position include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting a minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low-level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.
