Nursing Consultant

Looking for an experienced Nursing Consultant to make a critical impact in skilled nursing facilities. This temporary role offers an exciting opportunity to provide onsite clinical and regulatory oversight at two sites in Los Angeles and Bell Gardens, supporting facilities with complex regulatory and operational needs. What You Will Do:

• Conduct comprehensive clinical and regulatory audits across facilities
• Provide expert guidance to facility leadership on compliance, clinical practices, and quality improvement
• Support survey preparation and respond effectively to survey findings
• Identify deficiencies, develop corrective action plans, and oversee implementation
• Walk the facilities to observe resident care and clinical operations firsthand
• Collaborate directly with administrators, DONs, and nursing teams to enhance compliance and care standards
• Help maintain regulatory compliance and proactively address clinical challenges before they escalate

Required Skills:

• Active California RN license in good standing
• Significant leadership experience in skilled nursing, post-acute, or long-term care
• Proven track record as a Nursing Consultant, Regional Nurse, or senior clinical oversight role
• Extensive experience with multi-facility clinical oversight and regulatory survey readiness
• Strong knowledge of California skilled nursing regulatory requirements and CDPH survey processes
• Ability to independently evaluate clinical operations, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective measures
• Experience working with challenged facilities, including those under enhanced scrutiny or with significant deficiencies
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with facility leaders and staff
• Willingness to work onsite five days per week at both LA and Bell Gardens locations
• Capable of starting quickly and functioning independently with minimal orientation

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with plans of correction, clinical audits, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
• Background supporting facilities in survey response and correction strategies
• Familiarity with SFF facilities or similar highly regulated environments
• Certifications in healthcare compliance or quality improvement

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration
• Several years in a senior leadership or consulting role within skilled nursing or post-acute care settings

Other Requirements:

• Able to work on-site five days per week at designated facilities
• Willing to accept a temporary assignment with immediate availability
• Must be physically present to conduct audits, observe resident care, and collaborate directly with facility staff
