POSITION PURPOSE / IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION The City of Westminster seeks a dynamic, compassionate, and collaborative Library Associate who loves working with children and tweens from birth to middle school. The Library Associate II – Youth Services performs complex, technical paraprofessional library work in Public Services. Responsibilities include assisting with services and programs for children from birth to middle school; providing readers' advisory, reference services, community outreach; performing story time for children ages birth to preschool; and offering patron assistance with electronic devices and resources. The ideal candidate has a heart for public service, champion’s teamwork, is customer‑focused, and values empathy‑based service. Innovative programming ideas, passion for Youth Services, tech savviness, and the ability to support both children and caregivers are essential. The College Hill branch is a destination library that serves the surrounding community and an array of college students. It operates jointly with Front Range Community College and partners with the upstairs academic Front Range library for circulation and services. Applicants must be available to work days, some evenings, some weekends, and some holidays. The salary range is stated above. Pay is dependent on qualifications and experience. The Multilingual Stipend Program rewards employees who speak propically fluent non‑English languages.OPPORTUNITY TIMELINE

Children’s services: conduct story time, staff information desks, program youth (ages 0‑12) Paralibrarian services: recommend books, help patrons locate materials, assist in collection maintenance Technology duties: assist patrons with public computers, printing, scanning, mandate library catalog, databases, eBooks Work shifts include weekends, evenings, and some holidays Maintain punctual attendanceQUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience (Mandatory) Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or GED required Minimum two (2) years of experience working with children Preferred Qualifications Minimum two (2) years of experience providing customer service Knowledge and love of children’s books (ages 0‑12) Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills may be considered.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have sufficient strength and stamina to sit, stand, walk, crouch, squat, lift up to forty (40) pounds, and handle repetitive tasks in a multi‑level public library setting.WORKING CONDITIONS
