PA - Orthopedic Surgery/Podiatry (Hospital-Based) - Lakeland, FL

We are seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to become a part of our well-established Orthopedic Surgery and Podiatry team within a hospital environment at the Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated group of physicians in a high-quality, patient-focused setting.

* Prior experience in orthopedic, surgical, or podiatric fields is highly desirable. Essential skills include excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities, along with a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians in assessing, diagnosing, and treating orthopedic and podiatric conditions.
• Provide inpatient care, which includes rounding, consultations, and post-operative management, as well as consulting with orthopedic and podiatric patients in the hospital's Emergency Department.
• Perform procedures within the defined scope of practice.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and recovery processes.

Requirements:

Education: Master of Physician Assistant (PA) Studies from an accredited program.

Qualifications:

• CPR/BLS certification is mandatory.
• An active, unrestricted Florida license (or the ability to obtain one) is required.
• Strong clinical skills with a commitment to patient-centered care, along with effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Board Certification through NCCPA is necessary.
• Credentialing with the relevant facilities must be completed prior to providing patient care.
