Remote (California) | Full‑Time | Exempt | $100,000–$220,000 + Quarterly Bonuses

Bryant Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a confidential California workers' compensation defense firm. The attorney will be employed directly by the client law firm.

A respected California litigation firm is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join its statewide practice. This role offers a primarily remote work arrangement anywhere in California, with optional access to modern office locations across the state.

You'll manage meaningful workers' compensation defense matters, represent employers and carriers before the WCAB, and collaborate with a supportive litigation team that values mentorship, innovation, and long‑term professional growth. Whether you bring defense experience or are transitioning from applicant‑side practice, you'll receive training, technology, and leadership support designed to help you thrive.

• Competitive salary: $100,000–$220,000 , depending on experience

• Manage a full caseload of California workers' compensation defense matters
• Represent employers, carriers, self‑insured employers, and TPAs
• Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials before the WCAB
• Draft pleadings, petitions, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements
• Analyze medical records, expert reports, and vocational evidence
• Develop efficient, cost‑effective litigation strategies
• Negotiate settlements while protecting client interests
• Maintain regular communication with clients and claims professionals
• Ensure timely case management and compliance with WCAB procedures
• Utilize legal technology and case‑management systems

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active California Bar membership
• Minimum 3 years of workers' compensation experience (defense preferred)
• Strong legal writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
• Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
• Strong client‑service and communication skills
• Professionalism, integrity, and commitment to exceptional representation

Preferred :

• California workers' compensation defense litigation experience
• Applicant‑side experience with interest in transitioning to defense
• Experience representing carriers, employers, or TPAs
• Trial and deposition experience before the WCAB
• Familiarity with California Labor Code and WC regulations
• Experience with legal case‑management software
• International or out‑of‑state WC experience (if CA‑licensed)
• Attorneys with <3 years' experience may be considered for the Los Angeles (El Segundo) office
