Position Overview The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and sustainability of Best Point’s programs. This position supports a wide range of accounting functions, enabling our educators, clinicians, and program leaders to focus on delivering life-changing services. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset, along with a commitment to accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. Primary Responsibilities Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis Perform balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting Assist in preparing timely and accurate financial statements and internal reports Conduct departmental financial analysis and KPI reporting to support informed decision-making Prepare and reconcile grant and fund accounting entries Develop grant budgets, enter grant data into required systems, and complete monthly grant billing Reconcile accounts receivable, including billed and unbilled receivables, pledges, donations, and cash receipts Assist with annual audits, budget development, and various tax filings Ensure all internal and external reporting requirements are completed accurately, completely, and on time Maintain financial data and systems related to accounting applications Participate in ongoing training related to billing and financial systems Collaborate with internal program teams and external partners to obtain documentation and support timely, accurate receivables Prepare monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual financial reports Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Experience working with accounting and billing systems Strong proficiency in spreadsheets and Microsoft Office applications Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise sound independent judgment High level of attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Exposed to a combination of office, school and mental health treatment environments. Exposed to children with behavior problems. May be exposed to shouting and children who are upset.
