As an Assistant Principal, you will assist the principal in providing school-wide leadership to promote the educational development of each student and to ensure the effective operation of the assigned school. How You Will Impact Education Educational Leadership Assists the principal in establishing and maintaining an effective learning climate. Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school. Serves as principal in the absence of the regular principal. Assists the principal in designing and implementing programs to meet the specific needs of the school and its students. Facilitates and evaluates, in assigned departments, the CSUSA‑approved instructional program to maximize student progress. Assists the principal in acquiring and utilizing instructional supplies, equipment, and textbooks. Assists the principal in facilitating services for all students, including those with special needs. Participates in school‑level activities to design educational philosophy and goals that maximize student growth. Assists the principal in overseeing school facilities and grounds and makes recommendations for short‑range and long‑range needs. Assists in developing a schedule that maximizes the educational program and utilizes district resources effectively. Assists the principal in conducting ongoing assessment of the educational program, analyzing test results, attendance records, discipline reports, and feedback from stakeholders. Administrator of School Evaluates performance in assigned departments in accordance with state law, regulation, and CSUSA policy. Serves as acting principal responsible for building operations when the principal is out. Assists the principal in orienting new staff per state law and CSUSA procedures. Generates and maintains personnel records, reports, and documentation as required. Works to achieve and sustain 100% of projected student enrollment capacity. Student Management Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary. Establishes and publishes guidelines for proper student conduct in cooperation with the principal. Attends school‑related activities to oversee student behavior and achievements. Generates and maintains accurate discipline records. Works with students, staff, parents, law‑enforcement officials, and others to implement student behavior codes. Human Resources Assists the principal in recruiting, screening, background checking, and recommending school staff. Is familiar with hiring statutory laws and state regulations. Supports the recruitment process by completing requisition forms and handling paperwork. Assists Human Resources in maintaining certification compliance. Ensures new‑hire paperwork is coordinated with payroll and scheduled appropriately. Maintains personnel files confidentially. Conducts new‑employee orientation and verifies completion of the Employee Handbook acknowledgement. Supports the principal in disciplinary actions, coaching, exit interviews, and performance appraisal processes. Communicates with Stakeholders Assists the principal in promoting ongoing, two‑way communications with students, staff, parents, and community residents. Assists the principal in utilizing school and community resources to enhance the educational program. Serves on committees and attends meetings as directed by the principal or Vice President of Education. Seeks ways to improve quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. Analyses large amounts of data, detects errors, and prepares reports. Coaches and manages the performance of others. Possesses strong customer and student orientation. Is proactive, takes initiative, thinks creatively, and drives projects to completion. Job Requirements Master’s degree (MA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent. Professional Certification in Educational Leadership in the applicable state. Two to five years of relevant experience (school administration preferred) and/or training. Experience in student instruction. Equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful results of criminal and employment background check. CSUSA may consider alternatives to the above requirements as appropriate. May perform other duties as assigned. Work Environment Usual school working conditions. Physical Demands Agility and ability to quickly move in a school environment where children are present. Travel within or outside of Florida. Light work: occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force, or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
