Job Description Job Description Job Title: Maintenance and Facilities Manager Location: Addison, IL area Job Type and Duration: Direct Hire Pay range: 95-135/k This is a full-time, onsite position. Local candidates only. Summary Responsible for grounds, buildings and building equipment, maintenance, and construction. Oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of machine tools and equipment, electrical, gas, air, and water installations, sewers, and fire sprinklers, operation of building equipment and facilities, plant janitor service, and maintenance of grounds. Works with outside, contractors and architects on building construction, as necessary. Plans layout and assigns work to tradesmen in diagnosing and remedying difficult problems; reports on defective equipment, recommends replacement of obsolete or damaged equipment when estimate or repair cost is excessive. Expedites building and machine repairs in construction to avoid production delays. Responsible for purchasing machine maintenance equipment and working with vendors who install, maintain, rebuild and repair a wide variety of production or processing machines and equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment and machinery * Inspect, repair, and maintain building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, roofing, security alarm and fire system * Documents and updates maintenance activities including works orders, maintenance logs, preventative maintenance logs * Oversee outside contractors and vendors accordingly * Communicate with all levels of the organization clearly and effectively * Performs other related duties as required and may be assigned * Employee's primary duties require him/her to use discretion and independent judgment. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Minimum of five years of experience in industrial/building/facilities management in a manufacturing environment * Strong hands-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, production machinery and hazmat disposal * Manage relationships with service providers, contractors and vendors * Prioritizes multiple projects simultaneously * Strong computer skills * Problem solves effectively and efficiently * Safety orientated * Ability to work overtime, weekends as needed and willingness to be on call Education and/or Experience High school diploma, bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred; or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
