Human Resources Benefits Administrator

We are seeking a hands-on HR professional to support our multi-location organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with employees, creating a positive workplace culture, and serving as a trusted resource across the business. We're looking for someone who is approachable, practical, fiscally responsible, and enjoys balancing strategic HR initiatives with day-to-day employee support. This position will focus heavily on employee engagement and retention, self-insured benefits administration, and core HR operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment while partnering closely with leadership to enhance the employee experience. Key Responsibilities Employee Engagement & HR Leadership Foster an employee-first culture by building strong relationships across multiple locations Develop and support employee engagement, wellness, recognition, and retention initiatives Partner with leadership to improve the overall employee experience through effective communication, coaching, and practical HR solutions Conduct employee surveys, gather feedback, and identify opportunities to improve engagement and retention Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees, managers, and leadership Support HR projects that improve processes, efficiency, and organizational effectiveness Benefits Administration Manage company health, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) programs Administer benefits within a self-insured or captive insurance environment Coordinate annual renewals and maintain relationships with brokers, TPAs, carriers, and benefit vendors Review claims utilization, benefits reporting, and cost trends to support informed decision-making Assist with stop-loss administration and other cost management initiatives Educate employees on benefit offerings and serve as the primary point of contact for benefits-related questions Ensure compliance with applicable benefits regulations, employment laws, and workers' compensation requirements Identify opportunities to improve benefit offerings while maintaining fiscal responsibility Recruitment & HR Operations Manage recruitment efforts for key positions, including posting jobs, screening candidates, and conducting initial interviews Coordinate onboarding and offboarding to create a positive employee experience Create user accounts, email access, and system credentials for new hires Cross-train on weekly payroll processes utilizing BambooHR Maintain employee records, HR documentation, and HRIS data integrity Build and improve HR processes that are scalable, practical, and support organizational growth Partner with Regional Managers, who oversee employee discipline and performance documentation Qualifications Experience in an HR Generalist, HR Manager, Benefits Administrator, or People Operations role Hands-on experience administering self-insured, self-funded, or captive health insurance plans strongly preferred Experience working with benefits renewals, claims analysis, stop-loss coverage, TPAs, brokers, or benefits cost management Knowledge of employment law, leave administration, and workers' compensation Experience with HRIS and payroll systems; BambooHR experience is a plus Strong Excel and systems proficiency with a process improvement mindset Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine employee-first approach Ability to work independently while supporting multiple locations in a hybrid environment #J-18808-Ljbffr AppleOne Employment Services
