Scheduler – Concrete Construction

E&M Concrete, Inc. is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and adaptable Scheduler to manage and coordinate the day-to-day scheduling of our concrete construction operations. E&M Concrete operates a high volume, with numerous active and upcoming projects requiring daily coordination across crews, builders, and internal operations. This is a key operational position with significant responsibility for keeping work organized and moving according to schedule.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing substantial amount of information and communication throughout the day, making scheduling decisions independently when appropriate, and quickly adjust as priorities change. Previous scheduling or construction experience is beneficial; however, our processes are specific to the way E&M Concrete operates, so strong learning ability, adaptability, and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

· Build, manage, and continuously update schedules across a high volume of active and upcoming concrete projects

· Coordinate daily and future scheduling for multiple craws, projects, jobsite needs, and other operational requirements

· Work closely with company ownership throughout the day to discuss priorities, scheduling decisions, changes, and job-related concerns.

· Independently handle scheduling decisions when appropriate while recognizing when additional direction or approval is needed.

· Manage a high volume of scheduling-related text messages, phone calls, and ongoing communication throughout the workday

· Monitor information coming from multiple sources and ensure important messages, questions, changes, and requests receive timely attention and follow-up

· Communicate professionally with builders, employees, supervisors, and other parties regarding schedules and updates

· Track job readiness, inspections, weather impacts, delays, changes, and other factors affecting the schedule

· Identify scheduling conflicts and work proactively to resolve them while minimizing disruptions to other scheduled projects

· Follow up on outstanding information needed to schedule or complete upcoming work

· Maintain accuracy, organization, and follow-through while managing frequent changes, interruptions, and competing priorities

· Learn company processes, terminology, and construction workflows to develop a strong understanding of scheduling needs

· Anticipate upcoming scheduling needs and take initiative rather than relying solely on step-by-step directions

Qualifications

· Previous scheduling, dispatching, construction, operations, logistics, or administrative coordination experience preferred

· Construction or concrete industry experience is a plus but not required

· Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to manage multiple projects, conversations, decisions, and follow-up items simultaneously

· Ability to process a high volume of texts, calls, and incoming information without losing track of important details

· Strong ability to learn and retain new processes, terminology, and information

· Ability to recognize urgent or time-sensitive issues and respond appropriately

· Comfortable making independent decisions within established responsibility

· Comfortable working closely and communication frequently with company ownership

· Ability to receive feedback, adjust quickly, and adapt to changing priorities

· Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through

· Ability to remain professional and organized in a demanding, fast-paced work environment

· Strong computer, phone, texting, and general technology skills
