Chief Operating Officer

A growing, boutique plaintiff personal injury and wrongful death firm in North Atlanta is seeking its first Chief Operating Officer . This is a newly created role designed to bring structure, operational leadership, and strategic oversight to a well-established but informally run firm.

The Opportunity

The COO will oversee day-to-day operations and serve as a key leadership partner to the attorneys. Responsibilities include managing staff, improving internal alignment and workflows, overseeing expenses and financial visibility (the firm currently uses outside accounting support), and contributing to marketing and/or operational strategy depending on experience.

Because this is a first-time role, there is flexibility to shape responsibilities based on the right candidate’s strengths.

The firm has strong personalities—engaged, thoughtful, and open to discussion—but not always aligned. The COO must be comfortable being challenged, explaining decisions clearly, and standing firm without becoming defensive.

Key attributes include:

• Experience in a law firm or professional services operations
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Financial acumen (budgeting and expense oversight required)
• Ability to implement structure without overcomplicating systems
• Comfortable navigating strong opinions and direct communication styles
• Marketing or business development exposure a plus

Compensation:
$85,000-$115,000 per year
