Job Description

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
Deep understanding of strategies for instructing and supporting students with hearing impairments
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication techniques
Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with diverse learning needs
Strong collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and administrators
Commitment to creating accessible and engaging lesson plans

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across multiple grade levels
Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to suit individual student needs
Partner with classroom teachers to support successful inclusion and accessibility
Assess student progress and adjust goals within IEPs as needed
Serve as an advocate for students, promoting self-advocacy and communication skills
Conduct consultations and provide assistance to staff and families regarding hearing loss and educational strategies
