Solutions Engineer

Location: San Francisco Bay Area required (Remote role with regular event attendance in San Francisco; optional co-working space in Sunnyvale) Type: Full-time Team: Developer Relations About Tigris This role We’re hiring a Solutions Engineer based in the Bay Area to represent Tigris in person—at events and in the broader developer and data communities. This role is all about building relationships: you’ll meet engineers, understand their architecture and pain points, and help them see how Tigris fits into their stack. You’ll organize and attend meetups and events, give demos and talks, and serve as the technical face of Tigris in the field. If you love connecting with people, solving infrastructure challenges, and helping developers make better architectural decisions, this role is for you. What we’re doing now We’re investing in community and in-person engagement to better support developers building real-world systems. We’re already seeing strong interest in Tigris from AI, ML, and data engineering teams—especially those working across cloud boundaries. Now we’re ready to meet them where they are: at meetups, at conferences, and out in the world. What you'll do Attend and organize Bay Area events, meetups, and small developer gatherings Build relationships with the Data + AI community Identify customer needs and provide architecture guidance using Tigris Deliver in-person meetup talks, demos, and MC events Collect product feedback from the field and share it with engineering and product teams Support early customer trials and help teams go from proof-of-concept to production Represent Tigris in-person at conferences, hackathons, and partner events You’ll know you’re succeeding if You’ve helped developers choose Tigris by showing them how it fits their architecture You’re regularly invited to speak, present, or advise by developer groups in the Bay Area Early customers cite you as instrumental in their success with Tigris The product team acts on your field feedback to improve key workflows You’ve built a local community of developers who trust and support each other—and Tigris This job might be for you if You’re an engineer who enjoys talking to other engineers and solving architecture problems You’ve worked with cloud-native apps, storage systems, or distributed infrastructure, and you’re excited about AI and AI infrastructure You love showing up to events, learning what people are building, and finding ways to help You’re comfortable giving demos and whiteboarding technical concepts live You’re proactive, personable, and excited to build community from the ground up You’re based in the Bay Area and available for regular in-person engagements A short note on how you’d go about growing Tigris’s presence in the Bay Area developer community A subject line that includes “Solutions Engineer” A quick summary of a technical architecture you helped improve or a solution you delivered in the past.
