Job Summary:

This position conducts admission procedures for patients being admitted to a psychiatric and chemical dependency facility to ensure that personal, medical and legal information is collected and recorded. Duties include greeting patients on arrival, reviewing legal documents, entering patient data into the electronic health record which includes scanning, overseeing the admission process by coordinating with various professional providers, assisting with patient safety checks/searches, responding to phone calls and visitors.

This position works - primarily 11:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays, every 4th weekend from 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m, and rotating holidays.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Knowledge of:

• medical terminology;
• Microsoft word, Excel and other software applications;
• record keeping practices;
• modern office equipment, practices and procedures;
• Business English including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Ability to:

• efficiently communicate with patients, peers and others;
• complete detailed tasks with a high level of accuracy;
• exercise a high degree of ethics and professionalism;
• maintain confidential information;
• prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
• operate a variety of office equipment;
• type accurately;
• solve problems logically using critical thinking skills.

This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
