Job Summary We are looking for a contract Commercial Real Estate Attorney experienced in retail lease review to join our national tenant representation team. This role involves high-volume, fast-paced review of leases for franchise and multi-unit retail tenants. Key Responsibilities Review, redline, and negotiate retail leases and related documents (e.g., amendments, renewals, estoppels, SNDAs). Identify and mitigate business and legal risks while ensuring alignment with client and franchisor requirements. Advise Transaction Managers and clients on lease provisions, such as exclusives, co-tenancy, assignment rights, personal guarantees, and CAM calculations. Coordinate with external counsel, franchisors, and landlords to resolve issues efficiently. Maintain consistent communication with internal teams to track document progress and approvals. Assist in developing lease review templates, checklists, and internal training materials for the operations team. Required Skills & Experience Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state (Texas preferred). 3–7 years of experience in commercial real estate leasing, preferably on the tenant side. Strong understanding of retail leases, shopping center operations, and franchise occupancy structures. Ability to manage multiple lease reviews simultaneously (targeting 200–300 per year). Exceptional communication and contract drafting skills. Highly organized with strong attention to deadlines and detail.
