Accountant

Our client, a large, well-established natural resources and real estate company headquartered in Seattle, Washington, is looking for an Accountant. This is a contract position supporting a temporary staffing need, with work spanning core accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting activities.

Location: Seattle, WA – Hybrid (Onsite Tues, Wed, Thurs)

Contract Duration: October 2026 – June 2027

Compensation: $38.00 - $50.00/hr

Additional Compensation: This position is not eligible for bonus or incentive compensation.

Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced Accountant to backfill a temporary role within their accounting team. The successful candidate will handle day-to-day accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations, quarterly reporting activities, and support for audit requests. This role requires someone who is a self-starter, works well independently, and brings strong attention to detail. Previous successful contract experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and on time

• Complete account reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation

• Assist with quarterly reporting activities and deliverables

• Support internal and external audit requests as needed

• Perform additional accounting tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting degree strongly preferred)

• Demonstrated experience completing journal entries and account reconciliations

• Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Previous contract or temporary work experience strongly preferred

Nice to Have:

• Month-end close experience at a large company, particularly in an industry-focused environment

• Experience with workpaper preparation and review
