Quality Inspector

Job Title: Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector performs detailed visual and mechanical inspections of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to ensure they meet IPC standards and specific customer requirements. This role focuses on in-process and final quality control, using manual and automated inspection tools, reviewing technical documentation, and accurately recording inspection results to support high-quality electronic manufacturing. Responsibilities Perform thorough visual inspections of PCBAs following machine processing and during Final Quality Control to verify overall workmanship. Inspect boards for defects such as solder issues, missing components, misalignment, contamination, and other workmanship defects. Conduct inspections using microscopes, magnification tools, and UV lighting as required to identify visible and subtle defects. Apply IPC-A-610 acceptance criteria to evaluate product quality and workmanship and determine acceptability of assemblies. Review and interpret Bill of Materials (BOM) and Circuit Reference Designator (CRD) documentation to verify correct component placement, values, and orientation. Inspect assemblies using 5DX and/or X‑ray inspection systems to identify hidden solder defects and internal anomalies. Accurately document inspection results using computer systems, inspection logs, and quality reports to maintain complete quality records. Communicate quality concerns, defects, and emerging trends to Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to support corrective actions and continuous improvement. Follow all ESD, safety, and quality procedures while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work area. Support both in-process and final QC activities to ensure consistent quality throughout the manufacturing process. Essential Skills Hands‑on experience performing visual inspections of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). Proficiency using microscopes, magnification tools, and UV lighting for detailed inspection work. Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 acceptance criteria for evaluating electronic assembly quality and workmanship. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Circuit Reference Designator (CRD) documentation. Experience with quality inspection and quality control processes for PCB boards in both in-process and final QC stages. Familiarity with 5DX and/or X‑ray inspection systems for detecting hidden solder defects and internal anomalies. Ability to use computer systems for documenting inspection results, completing inspection logs, and generating quality reports. Capability to stand for up to 8 hours per day and bend as needed to perform inspections and related tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with mechanical and electronic assembly, including control panels, harnesses, and wire assemblies. Background in production or manufacturing environments, particularly within electronics manufacturing. Comfort using basic mechanical tools and power tools as part of inspection or related assembly verification. Understanding of ESD handling practices and safety procedures in an electronics manufacturing setting. Why Work Here?
