Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) | Administration / Management Location: Fort Dodge, KS Agency: 22nd Century Healthcare, Inc. Pay: $23 to $25 per hour Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 1 Months Start Date: ASAP About the Position Duration: 1 month to long term Shift: 1ST, 2ND Requirements A Certified Nurse Aide certification from the state of Kansas is required. High School Diploma or Equivalency is preferred. Must not have worked for a hospital or a public intermediate care facility under the jurisdiction of the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services during the past one year prior to assignment with the state hospital. If operating a motor vehicle must possess a valid Driver's License. Additional training and certification required by the hospital or treatment facility prior to assignment working in patient care and such certification must thereafter be maintained without interruption during the agreed assignment with the hospital or facility. Roles and Responsibilities Provides direct, basic care and supervision to patients and residents at public intermediate care facilities or other treatment facilities, providing supervision, security, monitoring for safety and assisting to meet needs of daily living. Performs location checks, both observing and monitoring. Duties require standing and walking, duties include transporting and escorting. CNA works under the supervision of nursing staff licensed by the Kansas State of Nursing and performs assigned tasks. Follows policies and procedures to meet agency's mission and patient outcomes. Duties may expose person to violence and intense physical exertion at times; therefore, employee should know Hospital/Nursing safety procedures, adhere to them, and conduct regular reviews of procedures. Perform environmental cleaning tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment by following Agency policies and procedures. May be required to perform work that requires physical strength to frequently and repetitively bend, stoop, walk, push, pull, twist, squat, and lift patients with assistance. Response to aggressive patient behavior with specific, trained techniques including patient restraint may be necessary. Must talk, hear, see, read, and write. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds repetitively.
