Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Tyler, TX 75701

Start Date: August 25, 2026

Location: Tyler, Texas

Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00). Patient ratio 1:6. Weekend coverage required for approximately half of the contract.

Highlights:

• 19-bed private room medical-surgical unit specializing in neurological and stroke-related conditions
• Patient population ranges from young adults through geriatric patients requiring medical-surgical level monitoring and interventions
• Primary diagnoses include acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, TIA, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological/neurosurgical conditions
• Unit equipped with continuous telemetry and pulse oximetry monitoring
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Evidence-based, patient-centered care focused on neurological assessment, stroke recovery, and optimizing functional outcomes

Requirements:

• Active RN license (state or compact license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
• Skills required include blood product administration, central line care, telemetry monitoring, IV management, wound care, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Must complete core compliance items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Geographic restrictions apply; candidates residing in certain local counties are not eligible
