Location: Syracuse, NY – Onsite

Travel: Approximately 20% U.S. travel

We are conducting an exclusive search for a well-established, privately held organization with a nationwide footprint seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to support a large, multi-state workforce. This is a highly visible role partnering with executive leadership and operational management to drive HR strategy, employee relations, talent initiatives, and organizational performance across multiple locations.

This position is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and enjoys balancing strategic HR leadership with hands-on operational support.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic HR Business Partner to executive and operational leadership across multiple states.
• Provide guidance on employee relations matters, performance management, investigations, coaching, and conflict resolution.
• Partner with business leaders to support a high-volume hiring environment, workforce planning, and talent acquisition strategies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions.
• Develop and implement HR programs, policies, and best practices that support business objectives.
• Lead organizational change initiatives and help drive employee engagement and retention efforts.
• Advise leaders on succession planning, talent development, and performance management.
• Analyze HR metrics and trends to recommend process improvements and business solutions.
• Partner closely with recruiting and operations teams to ensure staffing goals are met.
• Support compensation, benefits, and other HR initiatives as needed.
• Travel to regional locations throughout the U.S. (approximately 20%) to support business operations and leadership teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Generalist.
• Experience supporting a multi-state organization with 1,000+ employees required.
• Strong employee and labor relations experience, including conducting workplace investigations and coaching leaders through complex employee matters.
• Experience supporting a high-volume hiring environment.
• Strong working knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws and HR compliance.
• Proven ability to influence leaders and build relationships across all levels of an organization.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience supporting multi-site operations in industries such as service, manufacturing, distribution, retail, hospitality, or healthcare is highly desirable.
• Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is a plus.
• Union experienced preferred but not required

Work Environment

• This is an onsite position based in the Syracuse, NY area.
• Candidates must be willing to work from the office daily when not traveling.
• Approximately 20% travel throughout the United States is required.
