Base Pay $83,000.00 - $90,000.00 / Year Job Category Behavioral Health Employee Type FT Exempt Required Degree Masters Position Summary The Bilingual Integrated Behavioral Health Provider acts as an independent clinician, providing behavioral health counseling to children, adults, and families in a clinic or school-based healthcare setting, as assigned by Behavioral Health Service Line Director. This position provides behavioral health services in English and Spanish and supports improved access to culturally and linguistically appropriate behavioral health care for patients and families. Essential Functions Serve as the primary behavioral health provider for monolingual Spanish‑speaking patients and families, providing direct clinical services without reliance on interpreter services when clinically appropriate and within verified language proficiency. Maintain a caseload that includes a substantial volume of Spanish‑speaking patients and provide behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, intervention, care coordination, and follow‑up services in Spanish. Provide behavioral health counseling, brief interventions, assessments, consultations, psychoeducation, referrals, and case management services to patients in English and Spanish. Deliver clinically appropriate behavioral health services to Spanish‑speaking patients and families without reliance on an interpreter when services fall within the provider's verified language proficiency. Provide a range of services, including screenings for common behavioral health conditions, assessments, and interventions related to chronic disease management programs. Provide brief interventions for patients by performing short, limited follow‑up visits for select patients. Conduct risk assessments as indicated and follow organizational protocols for patients with severe or high‑risk behavioral health needs. Triage patients with severe or high‑risk behavioral problems and refer them to resources consistent with level‑of‑care criteria. Provide psychoeducation for patients and families during individual visits, including culturally and linguistically appropriate education when serving Spanish‑speaking patients. Collaborate with necessary entities to provide after‑care planning and treatment following hospitalization or a higher level of care. Maintain a visible presence to providers during clinic operating hours, providing same‑day verbal or documented feedback on patient encounters in person, by phone, or through approved communication systems. Be available for "curbside" consultation in person, by phone, or by Teams, and for same‑day and scheduled initial consultations with patients referred by other service lines. Promote integrated care by engaging medical providers and other clinical staff to facilitate teamwork and improve patient care processes and outcomes. Collaborate with care teams and providers to enhance understanding of behavioral health needs among patients and improve integrated care delivery. Provide clinical consultation and serve as a resource for colleagues in the behavioral health department and broader community. Provide consultation and guidance to care team members regarding culturally responsive behavioral health care practices and engagement strategies for Spanish‑speaking patients and families. Conduct outreach to patients regarding scheduling, medication responses, follow‑up care, and other case management needs in English and Spanish, as appropriate. Assist in reducing barriers to care and improving access to behavioral health services for Spanish‑speaking and limited‑English‑proficient populations through culturally and linguistically responsive service delivery. Support ECH language access goals by helping reduce barriers to behavioral health care for Spanish‑speaking patients and families. Collaborate with organizational leadership and care teams to identify and address language‑access gaps affecting behavioral health service delivery and patient outcomes. Participate in community outreach, engagement activities, partnerships, and educational initiatives targeting Spanish‑speaking populations to improve access to behavioral health services. Assist in achieving organizational language‑access goals, health equity initiatives, and grant‑related objectives related to underserved populations. Identify, review, and maintain an up‑to‑date library of patient education materials for commonly encountered behavioral health concerns, ensuring materials are accurate, culturally appropriate, and available at appropriate literacy levels in English and Spanish when possible. Support the development, review, and adaptation of behavioral health patient education materials, outreach resources, and clinical communications in Spanish to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance. Document assessment findings, interventions delivered, recommendations, referrals, and care coordination activities in the EHR in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain clinical records and other required paperwork in compliance with administrative, clinical, legal, and regulatory requirements. Assist in capturing program evaluation and fidelity measures. Participate in program development through quality initiatives and discussions with team members and supervisors. Attend clinic meetings, supervision, department meetings, all‑staff meetings, and other meetings as assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned. Additional Requirements Grants are vital to ECH's revenues and directly or indirectly support all positions. This role may have responsibilities that are closely associated with grant deliverables. Grants and grant responsibilities may change over time. Complete all required training as designated by HR and the position supervisor. Adhere to all organizational policies and those outlined in the ECH Employee Handbook. Comply with all ECH Vaccine Mandates. Willingness to travel and work at other ECH locations as determined by the supervisor. Comply with all applicable Credentialing and Privileging requirements in a timely manner. Embrace the ECH Mission and Vision and agree to work within the ECH Guiding Principles and the principles set by the position supervisor. Must participate in quality improvement activities when applicable. Maintain bilingual proficiency sufficient to provide behavioral health services in English and Spanish. Complete any required bilingual proficiency assessment, verification process, or periodic reassessment as determined by ECH. Qualifications Education/Experience Must-Haves to be Successful Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field. Qualifying credentials may include M.A., M.S., LPC, LPCC, LSW, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent. Colorado licensure or license eligibility is required. Registered with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), as applicable. Knowledge of lifespan development and experience assessing, diagnosing, and treating behavioral health conditions across diverse patient populations. Academic and/or professional experience in legal and ethical decision‑making, diagnosis and treatment planning, evidence‑based psychotherapy interventions, integrated care, psychopharmacology and behavioral medicine, professional consultation, clinical administration, and utilization of electronic health records. Demonstrated professional fluency in spoken and written Spanish sufficient to independently perform behavioral health assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, care coordination, patient and family communication, and clinical documentation. Demonstrated ability to independently provide direct behavioral health services in Spanish without reliance on interpreter services when clinically appropriate. Ability to effectively communicate complex behavioral health concepts, treatment recommendations, risk assessments, and safety planning information in both English and Spanish. Successful completion of an ECH‑approved bilingual proficiency assessment prior to or following hire and ongoing participation in proficiency verification processes as required. Experience providing behavioral health services to culturally diverse populations, including Spanish‑speaking, immigrant, multicultural, rural, or medically underserved communities. Demonstrated knowledge of culturally responsive clinical practices, health literacy principles, and barriers impacting access to care for limited‑English‑proficient populations. Commitment to culturally responsive, trauma‑informed, and patient‑centered care. Ability to establish therapeutic rapport and deliver evidence‑based behavioral health interventions across cultural and linguistic differences. Knowledge of electronic health record systems and proficiency with standard business software applications. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex clinical, legal, and regulatory documents. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and effectively share responsibilities and duties. Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner. Nice to Have Two years of directly related clinical experience preferred. Experience with evidence‑based therapies such as EMDR, DBT, CBT, ACT, or other evidence‑based treatment modalities preferred. Experience providing behavioral health services within an integrated care setting is preferred. Experience providing services to children, adolescents, adults, and families preferred. Experience in couples and family therapy preferred. Knowledge and experience in psychopharmacology and behavioral health medicine preferred. Experience working with Spanish‑speaking, immigrant, multicultural, rural, or medically underserved communities strongly preferred. Bilingual Requirement This position requires professional‑level fluency in English and Spanish. The employee must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in both languages with patients, families, care teams, and community partners. Bilingual duties may include clinical assessment, brief intervention, psychoeducation, care coordination, outreach, risk assessment, treatment planning, and patient/family communication in Spanish. ECH may require verification of bilingual proficiency before or after hire and may require periodic reassessment based on organizational policy. This position is not intended to replace certified interpreter services when interpretation is legally, clinically, or ethically required. The provider is expected to follow ECH policies regarding language access, documentation, interpretation, and translation. Work Environment The work environment in a healthcare setting can be fast‑paced, involving direct interaction with patients and healthcare professionals. The environment is primarily a clinical setting, but the individual may also work in a clerical, administrative, outreach, or school‑based setting.
