The role involves handling routine requests from agents and internal customers, supporting the underwriting team with less complex inquiries, and performing weekly and monthly reporting and other administrative duties as needed. Key Responsibilities Provide timely, courteous, and efficient service regarding underwriting and related matters to agents and policyholders on routine matters. Handle routine underwriting new business rating. Process endorsements within authority, forwarding exceptions to an Underwriter for approval or additional processing. Review renewal policies for changes in risk according to established procedures, referring exceptions to an Underwriter for approval or additional processing. Request additional or missing information on applications or endorsements from agents within established guidelines. Prepare renewals for processing: cross‑reference supporting lines of business, gather/review loss experience, run building valuations, and more. Order loss control surveys when warranted or requested by Underwriting. Monitor various weekly and monthly reporting including, but not limited to, renewals, loss control reporting, and more. Perform other related work on assigned special projects as required or requested. Support all aspects of Underwriting workflow and processes through organization, documentation, and more. Key Requirements Prior experience in personal and/or commercial insurance is preferred but not required. Strong time management and attention to detail. Excellent customer service, communication, and collaborative skills. The candidate will be hired at the appropriate level based on skills and experience. Compensation Our current reasonable and good faith estimate of the annual salary wage range for this position is approximately $50,000 ($26.53 an hour) – $58,000 ($30.77 an hour) for CL Underwriting Tech and $58,000 ($30.77 an hour) – $65,000 ($34.49 an hour) for CL Underwriting Tech Sr., based on relevant skills, experience, education, certifications, performance, market demand, and other organizational needs.
