Position Description:This role is for tube and carrier machining tooling engineer. You will work jointly with the department process engineers and our tooling to assure the incoming manufacturing line is successfully delivered for all key business metrics for long-term success of OEM.Position Duties:Support machining processes with tool developmentSupport implementation of GTSV tool trackingIdentify tool dominant features and implement proper controlDrive continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivityComplete all PPAP quality launch documentationApply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and productsDevelop action plans as required to investigate and prioritize open issues and verify corrective actions on internal processes and supplier processesLead and conduct process audits to ensure process discipline is consistent with Powertrain guidelinesCreate process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processesDeliver capable processes and tools for machining operationsLead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practicesEnsure compliance to Plant, Corporate, Governmental and Environmental standardsSupport ISO 14001 compliance and support internal ISO auditing and compliance as requiredSkills Required:Testing - Tools, Tool design, Tooling, Tool modificationsRequirements:5+ years of related experienceHigh production machining tool manufacturingTool Design and Programming of Tool Presetters (Royal/Zoller)Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviorsPreferred Requirements:Effective oral and written communication skillsLean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience8D and 5Why corrective action and problem-solving skills, Lean Tools - 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC and DMADV(DFSS) Project Methodology experienceFMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experienceEducation Required:High School Diploma / GEDEducation Preferred:Bachelor's Degree
