Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery)

The Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery), IC-0089-14, leads the Appeals Team for Region 9, working with the Regional Administrator on legal and program reviews of all Region 9 appeals. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader in emergency management, appeal review, legal research, and policy analysis. They ensure appeals comply with statutory requirements, brief leadership, coordinate adjudication, and provide authoritative guidance on FEMA regulations and policies. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. To qualify for this Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery) position at the IC-14 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-13 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Providing technical and/or administrative supervision to staff engaged in disaster recovery operations. Coordinating the delivery of Individual Assistance and/or Public Assistance programs. Managing complex recovery activities in compliance with federal directives, regulations, and the Stafford Act.
