Job Description Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Sr. Manager, Dynamic Component Repair‑Repair/Overhaul to join our Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) team based in Grand Prairie, TX. This role will manage the day‑to‑day operation of the Dynamic Components Repair Shop, ensuring safe maintenance operations and compliance with all company, FAA, and governmental safety rules and regulations, including component airworthiness. Dynamic Components Repair Operations (45%) Ensure cost, quality, on‑time delivery, and safety objectives are met or exceeded. Maintain safe maintenance operations and compliance with company, FAA, and governmental rules. Define strategy and provide capital budget requirements (CAPEX) to the MRO Sr. Director. Manage P&L, repair & overhaul investment project costs/schedules; ensure facilities support business plan goals. Implement transformation actions to improve performance, competitiveness, and lead‑time. Deploy operational strategies and action plans to support strategic initiatives. Collaborate with cross‑functional colleagues such as Design Office and Procurement to overcome obstacles. Use Smartrack to monitor operation progress and performance with emphasis on improvement. Implement reporting systems for workflow, manpower utilization, work‑in‑process tracking, and problem resolution. Schedule work, prioritize activities based on technicians’ training matrix. Establish compliance procedures for purchase, overhaul, inspection, and repair of gearbox components; audit practices. Ensure adequate manpower, facilities, equipment, and tooling and communicate these needs efficiently. Respond to maintenance delays and system problems; implement changes to eliminate recurrence. Develop, maintain, and report quantitative metrics (KPIs) for operational and financial performance. Maintain current procedures, manuals, and revisions; collaborate with QA to meet ISO 9001 and FAR 145 requirements. Manage operational expenses (OPEX) within budget. Monitor labor hours per project; optimize labor utilization. Support quality audits and conduct root‑cause analysis to achieve corrective actions. Leadership and Team Management (30%) Select and maintain personnel to comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Direct dynamic components repair teams and interfaces to ensure safe, on‑time, within‑budget maintenance activities. Assign and monitor work of subordinates, including training and coaching; conduct ongoing performance planning and appraisals. Perform performance evaluations and recommend salary increases, promotions, transfers, hires, and disciplinary actions up to terminations. Communicate corporate policies and goals to assigned personnel. Initiate management & technical training as required; keep training matrix and plans updated. Establish accountability for problem solving and cost reduction; promote innovation and fact‑based solutions. Ensure shop safety, manage PPE, and follow corrective actions with PPS. Live up Airbus values and promote speak‑up within the teams. Plan the Activity (25%) Support annual price catalog development. Schedule work and define delivery dates to meet on‑time delivery targets. Establish 18‑month forecasts of assemblies by model; review quarterly with Global Supply Chain. Analyze workload/capacity to anticipate additional resources. Develop strategies to manage missing parts and align prioritization. Provide status updates on WIP & TAT to internal and external customers. Monitor progress on improvement plans and steer activities to meet targets. Collaborate with cost accounting, controlling, planning, forecast, and supply chain teams. Support the Sr. Mgr of Business Office for pricing policies, annual price catalogs, and goodwill decisions. Use visual management to drum‑beat shop activities and conduct weekly WIP progress reviews. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 10 years of experience in the field (performing/supervising) with management experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul. 3+ years managing a P&L of $5 million or higher. Experience in an international business setting of 3+ years. Technical background, business acumen, strong leadership, communication skills, planning and organization, issue investigation, people development, vision casting, KPI creation, WIP/TAT/ capacity calculations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aeronautics, Aerospace, or Engineering. Lean experience/Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification. 5+ years experience in Airbus Helicopters Range. 10+ years of aviation management experience. Strong knowledge of operational expense management. Experience creating and presenting investment proposals/business cases. Licensure / Certifications Preferred: Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) or equivalent. Travel 10% domestic and international. Citizenship / Clearance Authorized to work in the U.S.; no clearance required. Communication Skills Required: Speak and write English fluently. Technical Systems Proficiency Required: Intermediate Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) or Google Workspace. Preferred: SAP experience. Physical Requirements 100% onsite. Vision, hearing, and speaking requirements as described. Operate office equipment, lift and carry up to 30 lbs (14 kg) occasionally. Operate PPE; comply with safety gear requirements.
