Make a difference in the lives of students in a supportive school environment while gaining valuable classroom experience. This contract paraprofessional opportunity offers a dynamic workday assisting students with significant special needs. Flexible assignment locations at either elementary or high school level, with the possibility of being reassigned to different school sites and age groups as needs change.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of one full year working in Special Education classrooms required
- Prior experience with significant/severe caseloads strongly preferred
- Must provide two completed professional RefAssured references at time of application (applications without references will not be considered)
- Willingness and ability to assist students with toileting and diapering as necessary
- Must pass fingerprinting/background screening to district standards – any felony or misdemeanor charges will result in disqualification
- Reliable transportation required; public transit is not acceptable
- Ability to reliably report by 7:40am (elementary) or 8:00am (middle/high school) as scheduled
- Flexibility to adapt to varied assignments across multiple school sites
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support to students in SPED classrooms, contributing to individualized academic, behavioral, and social goals
- Assist with personal care and hygiene tasks for students with significant needs
- Collaborate with teachers and therapy teams to foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to instructional staff
- Quickly adapt to changing classroom placements and age groups
This is a rewarding full-time, contract position running through late spring, 2027. You may be working up to 37.5 hours per week on-site.
