The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts, located on their main campus in Staten Island, NY. As a Psychiatrist at SBPC, you will provide comprehensive, patient centered, and recovery focused treatments to individuals with mental illness including:• Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and patient admissions• Creating treatment plans including medication management• Obtaining and reviewing appropriate laboratory tests and consulting with members of treatment team as needed• Providing individual and group psychotherapy• Participating in multidisciplinary case discussions, high-risk reviews, and administrative meetingsAbout SBPC:SBPC offers a comprehensive continuum of behavioral health services to adults with serious mental illness and children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances living in Brooklyn and Staten Island. SBPC is a teaching site for psychiatry residents from Richmond University Medical Center and New York University.SBPC provides recovery-oriented and patient-centered behavioral health treatment to 3,500 individuals. Their inpatient facility provides care to approximately 335 patients including units devoted to children and adolescents and medically complex patients. SBPC’s network of community services is comprised of Transitional Living Residences, outpatient clinics in Brooklyn and Staten Island, Children and Youth Day Treatment, mobile integration team (MIT) and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams and specialized treatment programs serving LGBTQ+ clients and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients. Minimum Qualifications : Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have:Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
